The missionaries who shared the work were S.W. Pond and G.H. Pond, the pioneers of the A.B.C.F.M. mission at Laquiparle, Thomas S. Williamson and Stephen R. Riggs. In 1839 the following portions of Scripture were printed at Cincinnati: 1) History of Joseph; 2) Extracts from Genesis, the Psalter etc; 3) Extracts from Matthew, Luke, John, Acts and 1 John; 4) Certain other extracts and the whole of Mark. Of these the first was by S.W. and G.H. Pond, while the others were translated from the French by J. Renville under the supervision of T.S.
