Note
Many editions of this work have appeared since 1830; among the most recent is Falcon: A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner, introduction by Louise Erdrich, Penguin Books, 2003. The writer Alexander Pushkin translated part of the French edition into Russian and wrote about it; see John T. Fierst's article" A 'Succession of Little Occurrences': Scholarly Editing and the Organization of Time in John Tanner's Narrative," in Scholarly Editing vol.33, 2012 pp 1-29.
