THOMAS KING is an award-

winning novelist, short story writer,
children’s writer, scriptwriter and photog-
rapher. His first novel, Medicine River, was a
finalist for the Commonwealth Writers’
Prize and was adapted for the screen. Green
Grass, Running Water, his bestselling second
novel, was shortlisted for the Governor
General’s Award for Fiction and won the
Canadian Authors Association Award. He
is also the author of the acclaimed Truth
& Bright Water and One Good Story, That
One, as well as several books for children.
Thomas King is Professor of English at the
University of Guelph, where he teaches
Native Literature and Creative Writing.
